Criminal Defense

Scott Grace has represented individuals charged with criminal and traffic violations in both California and Ohio since 2005. Mr. Grace has successfully represented criminal defendants through every stage of the state court legal system, including dozens of bench and jury trials, and through the appellate court system, where Mr. Grace has successfully argued published appellate decisions.

In 2007, Mr. Grace successfully completed the same training that Highway Patrol Officers receive for detecting alcohol and conducting Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST) required by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). In 2008, Mr. Grace successfully completed  the instruction requirement for breathalyzer measurement in the theory of Science of Evidential Breath Alcohol Testing including alcohol and human physiology, practical issues, theory and operation of infrared breath alcohol testing, field and laboratory applications.

Mr. Grace has served as a private DUI and criminal defense attorney and as a public defender in the past, and also represents individuals by assignment through the San Diego Office of Assigned Counsel.
