Attorney Scott M. Grace
was admitted to the California Bar Association in 2005, and practices in the California Superior and Federal courts in a wide range of consumer protection and defense, as well as criminal defense and DUI areas of law.
Prior to practicing in California, Mr. Grace practiced as a private DUI and criminal defense attorney, as well as a public defender in Ohio from 2005-2008. Since 2008, Mr. Grace has focused his practice increasingly in the areas of consumer protection and defense, primarily in representing individuals who have been sued by creditors and debt collectors in California Superior Court, and by pursuing individual and class action consumer cases against creditors and debt collectors in California state and federal courts for violations of various consumer protection statutes, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the California Rosenthal Act, the California Fair Debt Buying Practices Act (FDBPA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and the California Consumer Credit Reporting Agencies Act (CCRAA).
Mr. Grace graduated from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio in 2004, where he served as the President of the Student Bar Association from 2001-2004, and received the Dean’s award for student leadership in 2004. Mr. Grace has spoken at numerous consumer protection conferences, and has conducted dozens of jury and bench trials in matters ranging from debt collection defense to felony and misdemeanor jury trials in state court.
Mr. Grace is a member of the National Association of Consumer Attorneys (NACA), the National Consumer Law Center (NCLC), the Criminal Defense Bar Association of San Diego (CDBA), the San Diego Bar Association, the California Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in all Superior and Federal District Courts of California.
